Last Tomato Harvest

Don’t throw away those green tomatoes! Just put them in a sunny spot for ripening.

It’s the end of harvest season in Denver, Colorado. We had a very hot July that stunted tomato growth and production. So, my tomato plants were full of green tomatoes this month. (Not to worry! They can still ripen!) I spent a couple of days breaking down the plants and harvesting green tomatoes. Next, the green tomatoes were laid out on a table in my sunroom (any sunshine will do). They are slowly ripening now, and I find myself looking for more recipes and preservation methods. Currently, I’m working on dehydrating the tomatoes the smaller cherry tomatoes - for snacks and future use.
